The goal is a 4" and 6" in both .22 and .38. Down to the elusive M18. Can't believe what these are going for these days. This is my first foray into blued guns...and wax. Beautiful

Yes the 18 was one of my later acquisitions. Back in my more prolific gun buying days….17's were fairly common and inexpensive, the 18's were commanding a 30-50% premium. Well I wasn't gonna pay $600 for a $400 gun with a 2" short bbl. It took several years til I found one for what I thought to be more in line.

What's ironic, was not paying $600 for the m68 when my 67 was only $375. Been kicking myself since, as I've not seen another in person. But, that was before I knew I wanted one.

Lovely! Now if you could find a couple of Model 16s, one 6" and another in 4". If you think the Mod 18 is tough...

There is a reason that S&W attached the name "Masterpiece" to their K frame target revolvers, and your pictures begin to show what only shooting can really demonstrate. Congrats on a good collection and best of luck as you expand on it.

Nice! It is an addictive hobby though... My addiction is primarily to 6" blues > 14-1, 14-2, 17-2 (8 3/8"), 17-2, 19-2 (2 1/2"), 19-3, 27-3 (8 3/8"), 27-2, 28-2, 29-2 (8 3/8"), 25-2, 48-3, 586-1 (Silhouette) and I am always looking for more... Hoping prices will become a bit more realistic in the future. My son is looking forward to me finding more.

June 16th-Congratulations your the high bidder.
SMITH & WESSON S&W PRE-18, .22 LR, 4" BRL, 6 RND, MFG IN 1954, 5 SCREW. Tracking says it will be here Tuesday the 21st. Sooooo, when it rains it pours---19th (this evening) Congratulations your the high bidder Model 18-4 with an extra set of combats. Had placed a relatively low bid on this before I bought the 5 screw. I'm in the excited, but praying mode, waiting to see their condition---pictures look awesome. Looks like it was a short search......color me excited.

I picked up a 5-screw 22 Combat Masterpiece just a couple years ago because the price was right even though I already had an 18-3. After shooting it I'll be hanging on to it for a while. May yours shoot this well!

new (to me) five screw arrived.....

The wait is over and it was well worth it. Pre 18, thinking 1954, and it's like BRAND NEW. Little pricey but well worth it. The M18 will be here next week so one for the display and the other fun at the range......

Well...as it turns out the 5 screw doesn't really fill the bill for the "mini collection". It's a satin blue finish and the other three for the display are high gloss. The 18-4 will be here next week so should be able to get project underway.....blue Smith's are AWESOME but you guys know that!!!!!!
