Misfire Question

IMO that pic of the mainspring you posted indicates that the strain screw has been shortened. If so, I expect you'll find the DA trigger pull is in the 7 to 8 lbs. range and I suspect it's closer to 7. One quick fix it to take a fire primer cup, use a pin to hammer out the dimple, and slip it on the end of the strain screw. Long term fix is a new strain screw. BTW, both of these fixes will increase the weight of the DA trigger but with proper tuning a 9 lb.s trigger should prove reliable with almost any ammo on the market.
 
Still waiting to hear back on my 586, but I was wondering: could this be a timing issue? And, if so, what would be the best way to fix it? Buy a new hand?

(I'm just wondering because if I buy a new strain screw, I might as well get the hand at the same time.)
