Miss September 1956 is one of only 197 44 Magnums S&W manufactured that month. This brought the annual total for 1956 to 2114. With the exception of the early first four months of the year which accounted for only 199 44 Magnums produced, September saw the fewest number shipped. This was probably due to the 2 week shutdown at the factory in August.
Enjoy :)

A photo from Birmingham, AL in Sept '56 which was also the month I entered the first grade in Texas. Those were the days! :)

The blue on those revolvers look almost wet. The grain of the stocks really stand out.
You have a wonderful collection of magnum revolvers.
I always enjoy your posts.

Chuck,
That is a great looking gun! Just stunning! The finish is what guns should have and the grips figure is presentation quality! I just love it and the pics are great!

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome

Very nice Chuck...those are some of the best looking grips I've seen you post.

All right, Chuck, now you're just showing off...

Keep it up! I love to see your pics and read your stories. I especially like the last photo, a visual date stamp of the times....

When "Miss August" was posted, I died...
and then "Miss September" came along and I've been born again!

Chuck, Thanks...it's a beauty...!;)

1st grade for me, that same year, had it's issues...
Had I known that this gun shipped the day before my Birthday I'd have changed my wishlist from a "Fanner Fifty" to a .44 Magnum!

Thanks Chuck - Interesting, 1st Model case?

JC, the case is somewhat of a puzzle to me as well, but since it's original I am guessing it may be either one that was still left-over after the changeover or perhaps it was shipped at right around the time the changeover was taking place. Anyway, had to laugh at you comments about first grade. That wasn't my best time in school either. :)
