could be a good thing, sends a message to NOT screw with us or could be a bad thing if it escalates. At least we have a prez that isn't afraid to take action.
I have been expecting something like this for a couple of months. A new president with no credibility and disastrous polls needs to do something to try to rally the country behind him.
The fact that some very level-headed, highly experienced former generals are now in charge at Defense and the NSC, and also Homeland Security, has so far not really been reflected in policy. Instead, the focus has been on much more dubious characters with entirely different agendas. Maybe this is the beginning of a shift. Much needed.
On the local news, Ohio State University students had been protesting the lack of response concerning the chemical weapon attack. Same group was back earlier this evening praising the American response. I think it is the first time President Trump got any positive feed back from on campus! Of course all positive or negative activity disappeared when the cold rain started!!!
Assad has no reason to go after civilians. What would be the point. He could have just done that in Aleppo and killed everyone.... civilians and ISIS a like. Doing this can cause his allies to turn away.
The only video of a bunch of people making choking noises isn't much proof. This isn't the first video that showed dead or dying civilians only to have them get up and walk around when the filming was done
This was nothing more than Trump trying to show he's not buddy buddy with Russia. With all this election hacking nonese going on he was forced to act.
The Russians were warned this was going to happen because no one want an international incident. The air Base was evacuated and ultimately we sent dozens of tomahawks to do a few hundred dollars worth of damage
The White House has made it clear that they informed Russia well in advance of the cruise missiles, so that Russia could get it's soldiers and gear out of harm's way. You don't suppose that they Russians might have passed the word on to the Syrians, giving them time to move their planes and stuff out of that airfield?
Trump has repeatedly said he doesn't every tell the enemy what his plans are, then he goes and does that exact thing.... Unless of course you think Russia is our ally.
The fact the S-400 and possibly the S-500 anti-missile missile shields have been deployed in Syria may have had something to do with that. Notice none of them were launched.
You're all aware of the airstrikes by now.
I have no doubt that the politics associated with this will continue to be addressed, so we're done here.
Consider this a friendly reminder...
