Missing Sight Bead

Six months ago I purchased a very nice model 27-2 with the 8 3/8 barrel. Just this week I spotted the open in the sight blade. What options do I have for replacing it? I have seen reference to a Call Gold Bead Sight but I guess there are others. Hoping it is a DYI job.

A cheap old rancher's solution would be to get a piece of brass gas welding rod, work it down so it would go in the hole and use something like red loctite to glue it in and polish it up nice.

One thing about it, with welding rod bein' a couple of feet long, you'll have plenty for replacments if you lose another one.

Them that ain't quite so cheap might go to SDM manufacturing and get a gold bead to fit in the S&W front sight.

Since it is a shooter, you could just drop in some bright white paint and it would likely do just as well or better. Easier to replace also!
