Original singer passed on at the age of 70.

Known for their big hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"

They sure are disappearing on all of us, great voices.

One of my favorites:

Darn it-now a trio of "song birds." Rest in Peace-and I love The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Carol Burnett used it many times on her show. "A wim-o-wep, a wim-o-wep."

I do miss those groups that had great voices in the Doo Wop era.

I guess I am pretty old.;):)but I'm still.

I got to meet Jay Siegel, the lead singer of the Tokens, during the intermission of a concert. I told him that in my misspent youth in the early 1970's I was an oldies disk jockey and was playing their records on the air. He asked my what stations I was on and when I mentioned their call letters he reached out and shook my hand. He could still hit the high notes on "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
