Mod. 15-2 value ?

Stopped by a Pawnshop today and settin' there was a 15-2 in pretty decent shape with the diamond magna's on it.
They have it priced at $299. What do you think I should offer them?
And what's the vintage on it? ~ Ser.# K654XXX

Offer $250 with cash in hand but never pay pawn shop asking prices. They only have $100 - $150 in it and like fast profit.

I came on one recently marked $350, I said I can't pay that much, they said $275 out the door, I consider it to be close to the best money I ever spent. For that money it is seriously a steal.

The vintage is 1965. $299 seems reasonable, depending on what "pretty decent shape" is. I agree with ken158 though. Usually pawns leave a little bargaining room in their asking price. If you can get it for $250, you done good. I really like the 15s. Had a 15-4 that I sold after the flood, and wish I still had it. It had a great trigger, and was built to last.

About the condition.... I wasn't even able to check the timing or end-shake because of the trigger lock they have on it. Didn't bother asking the lady to remove it 'cause I had to be somewhere else and didn't have the time.
Last month I saw a 15 made sometime in the 70's that was supposedly un-fired and owned by a "little old lady." It looked just the way it did the day it was shipped from the factory. You couldn't ask for one to be in better cond. I just don't like the stocks on it; I prefer the vintage look of the diamond magnas.

If this one is still there when I get there I'll be sure to check it out thoroughly. If all is well, I'll make the offer. ~ Thanks again.
