Temptation has, once again, reared it's ugly head! My local pawn shop owner has waived a Model 17-3 under my nose with an OTD price of $600.00.

Based on what I have seen them selling for, it is a pretty good deal but, not a steal. It has slight muzzle wear on both sides of the barrel, a slight but, noticable turn ring and is wearing K frame, smooth, target grips with the S&W logo. I would rate the overall finish at 95%. No box, no papers and no tools.

Your opinion relative to this potential acquisition would be welcomed.

Thanks,

Worth it. I've picked up two model 17's this year...a 8 3/8" Model 17-4 in 99% and a 17-6 4" (not full underlug) old-stock NIB. Paid a bit more than you for each, but they are really great revolvers.

Go for it as they are great revolvers. I currently have a 17-1 with 6 inch barrel and one with a pinned barrel that's a 17-4 in 8 3/8 inch barrel. Both are excellent shooters and the 17-4 with 8 3/8 inch barrel is my most accurate S&W revolver.

17-1

17-4

Well, the votes are in and it looks like I will have to jump in the deep end once again. Nice pictures of all of your 17's!

Thanks!
