Hello, I'm trying get some information on a recent find. I got a mod 17-2 w/ 6 inch barrel 90 95+ ser #k493362. I like to know build date and estimated value. sorry no pictures. I've always wanted one, so I want be selling it.

Can't give you the date it was built, only a factory letter can do that.
The Catalog says it was made in 1962.

P&R Fan gave you the date, the value will depend on the condition. The prices of 17's are all over the place, starting around $600 and going up to over $1000. In most places a 95% gun would bring around $750.

That seems accurate for my area...I bought a 17-4 (lightly used) and a 17-6 (NIB) for just about $700 each earlier this year. Here is a link for another, similar thread: Model 17-2

I have got to get some .22 LR ammo and shoot the 17-6...and I need some new photos.

Thanks again, you guys are the greatest. I gave the 17 a good over all cleaning and I'm headed to the range. I still have a few rounds left. from those prices posted I got a great deal. It was a deal anyway, I've looked for one for several years. folks don't want to sell them, either for love nor money. That's a great find nib !
