Mod 36 ages

Hello S&W friends! I have two Mod 36 revolvers and am wanting to find out ages. They are both nickel plated, 2" barrel, 3-screw.
One is Model 36, .38 Spl, ser. no. J526731

The other is Model 36-10, .38 Spl +P, ser. no. DAV6424

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The "J" prefix Mod. 36 appears to be from '76-'77.

I couldn't find reference to a "DAV" prefix. Perhaps the latest Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson book will have more info. My 4th edition is from 2016. I don't have the latest 5th edition.

Welcome aboard from ol' Wyo.

Comparing other Chiefs Specials in the database, a few bracket
yours, and they both shipped in March 1977. I'd bet S&W shipped
yours near there, too.

It appears your Model 36-10 might be from around 2007.
