I just picked up a 19-4, 201/2", round butt revolver from a LGS. I was making my rounds of a few closer stores with a few handguns that I had decided to cull from the heard. One store had nothing new and after a few friendly conversations, I started to leave. As I was going out the door, the owner yelled to me that he had held back a trade-in he thought was just for me. It was a 19-4 in beautiful condition. The only scratch on it was the one around the cylinder. I went out to my cull pile (Not bad guns, just overage) and we worked out a trade. When I got home, I couldn't find aIMG_2441[1].webpny info on this model. The ser# is 95K4XXX. I can't find the round butt listed. All I have is the 5th edition standard catalog. The info is probably in there somewhere, but I can't find it. No pics yet, but will add them later.

Your serial number is from 1981 production. The 19-4 was the last of the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder guns in the K frame. All info from SCSW 5th edition. Nice gun. I have both a blue and nickel 19-4 snub , round butts , and a blue and nickel 19-4 4 inch square butts.

The Model 19-4 was manufactured from 1977-1982, and as Redwood32R2 says, it was the last of the P&R K-frames. The round butt grip frame was initially only available on the 2-1/2" versions, but it appears that later versions with different barrel lengths could also have RB grip frames. My minty nickel snubbie is an early 19-4 RB from 1978 (33K1035). Enjoy!
