Hi all another DOB, but I couldn't find any refrence to DOB list as in the M 28 threads. So, just aquired my grail gun; to me the most refined revolver made never reproduced as it was when discontinued the first time. This is a three and a half inch, nickel plate, possible a rework but none the less a great example of craftmanship, s/n 214XXX, a close date will be fine just an idea. Thanks alot have things to learn about this gun but will be able to gain knowledge through this forum. Thanks

CC - Welcome to the Forum!
If your gun has "S" prefix, it is approx. 1960
If it is "N" prefix, it is approx. 1974

Sorry thats an N, Thanks for the information. How can I tell if it has factory nickel finish?

LGS has a 4" nickel 27-2 in nice condition, N8 something, pinned and recessed for $750. Almost had me thinking about trading my recently acquired 29 Classic blue, but, at the time, wanted a larger caliber. It's a nice one though, 3T's, and they don't appear in that condition very often. My 29 was $870, not a whole lot of difference, and I think I'll keep it, it's a caliber thing, but I shoot my 38 most of the time. Happy shooting and enjoy the 4th.

Should have an "N" stamped on the left side of the grip frame under the stocks.
Sometimes there is same stamp on face of cylinder.

We'd love to see some pictures of your revolver!

:)Working out of town, won't be home till the end of the week. To be sure I will look, have had the grips off but can't remember if the left grip frame has a stamp. Their are a few letter, number stamps but don't remember an N by itself. Got a good deal price wise to me I've been looking on GB and actually bought a M28 two weeks ago but haven't been able to pick it up, this last weekend being a holiday the shop was closed, and had to leave this morning for work out of town. Hope to pick it this week though. Thanks VM for your input. Very helpful to be sure.
