I have a lovely .44 Russian DA that wants sighting in. I tried it out with some Fiocchi ammo and it was way high (about 11" at 20 yds.) and left (about 5"). It's my intent to drift out the pin, remove the foresight blade (and carefully put them by), and fabricate a foresight block about an 1/8" higher and mill the actual blade all on the left side of the block to bring my MPI over to the right. I'm pretty handy, tool wise, but this is new territory to me so I'd appreciate a little guidance. Does the pin drift out in a certain direction? That is to say, does it drift out left to right or vice versa? I'll see what happens with my handloads before I start into tinkering, but I'd very much appreciate it if you guys would share your knowledge and insights. Thank you.
