Hello I am new here and I hope I do not do this wrong.
I recently got a 34-1 6 inch BBL # M152xx. I have gotten a letter from Mr Jinks that my gun had the BBL changed at the factory to fill a special order and was shipped 12/06/1971 To Los Angeles Calif, blue finish, sq butt, all original with box and all paper's and tools. It is in 99% + condition. What would you all think it would be worth ??? I do not want to sell but would like a idea. Thank you 22/32 JDF

Sounds like someone made a 34 into a model 35. Its hard to say a value. Most of the 22's are in the 600 and up category. I would say condition would play a substantial part. I value my 35 at 1200. I'm sure others will respond.

This one S&W 34-1 shipped 6/1/1971 ser.# 51422 to Mathews & Boucher,Inc.
Rochester,NY.shipped with a 2 in.barrel,but i think the 6in.barrel was
installed at the factory since the cyl.has the serial # added.
I think yours is worth $1100 -$1200 with box & all.
? Does your 34 have the ser.# on the cyl.?

I'm going to be a little more conservative with a value estimate. An "as new in box" Model 35-1 would sell where I shop in the $1000 range, perhaps a bit more. Your re-barrelled 34-1, while "all factory" is not "as new" nor is it original. It likely is every bit as good a shooter as a 35-1 but from a collector value perspective, in my mind anyway, has to be less than the original ANIB 35. I bought a 98% 35-1 for $775 last year, no box/papers. Yours with box/etc. and S&W letter, where I shop, would likely bring between $800-$900. Nice gun, great to have the letter. Good luck.

I've had a Pre-35 for several years. It was a bear to find, I traded a very nice Pre-34 Kit Gun and $500 for it. I haven't seen an M-35 sell for near $1000 online ever since.I've never seen one in a local gun shop.
I'd rate my Pre-35 in fine condition at about $1200+. No box no extras. I've seen actual internet sales in the $1250++ category with added value for the correct box. These are simply scarce guns and rarely come up for sale. I think yours might bring a premium, IMO.
Lots of folks will tell you what they ought to cost, but never get out the checkbook when one actually comes up for sale.

Ready for gopher shooting. My favorite gopher gun~~
