Mod 41 Manufacturing Date

Hi there,
I have pre-reserved a Model 41, 5.5", from a fellow shooter and will get it as soon as I get my permit from the french authorities (down here we need such a document, a long long process (~2 to 3 months). The handgun is in mint condition, supposed to have been purchased by its present owner in 2002. Serial # 590 xxx. Any idea of the fabrication date? Thanks in advance.

Serial # 590XXX does not compute. Are you sure it's a six digit serial number?

Rimfire central.com has dates of mfg for S&W 41 PISTOLS
