Mod 57 converted to 44 mag value?

Now if I had the chance to buy a converted model 27-28 from 357 magnum to 44 special and the price was decent . That would definitely gather my attention . Especially if a 4" barrel . I have been on the hunt for a 4" 44 special for a long time . I must missed one here on this forum by a couple of hrs , a real beautiful item and the price was quite reasonable . Yes , I know Ruger makes a nice 44 special now , but it's a 5 shot . I want the 6 shot N frame version . The hunt goes on . Regards, Paul

Thx for all the input, pretty much jives with my gut thoughts on this piece the cylinder and barrel are both .44 mag. I'm going to have my Gunsmith check it over and if it's good to go I'm gonna probably keep it and shoot it, I always wanted a 3" .44 mag as a sidearm in bear country as an alternative to my 10mm. No original box and grips unfortunetly, Thanx
again.

To me it would be worth the same as any shooter grade 44 mag if the conversion was well done. 44 mags are hard to find under say $650.

Yea, it would have been worth more left alone. A 1917 Enfield would be worth more left alone too. But, few people have that much look ahead. If everyone had that much look ahead we would have all bought Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon at opening values.

Very well said..
