Mod 60 question

Picked up a beater M-60 recently that needs some TLC. The barrel is "pinned" but the cylinder is not recessed. Would this gun come with a recessed cylinder or, is this normal?

Serial #R1792xx. DOB ?

Probably a 1977 ship date. Only .22 rimfires (including current production) and Magnum calibers up to about 1982 had the recessed chambers. Hope this is helpful.

That's not a beater! That's an EDC (every day carry). Looks just like mine, except mine has a bobbed hammer.
