Mod. 60 SS Hammers

Anyone know of a source of new or good used SS Hammers (non MIM) for the S&W Mod. 60 ?

Try a want ad in our classifieds before you go the Gunbroker route.

I`m not for sure but wasn`t the SS hammer only on the 1965 Mdl.60`s?

Correct, only the early model 60s had stainless hammers and triggers. The silver colored ones are forged parts that are chromed.

At what point did Smith and Wesson switch from stainless steel to flash chromed(?)?

Is there an easy way to tell the difference?

The chromed ones are light gray with a dull finish. You can easily see it's a different finish than the frame.
