It appears the grips I have are for a Model Number One 2nd issue. sn-16258
Any help on the value of these would be appreciated. They don't fit my N frames very well and are in very good condition for being over 150 years old.

As Mike noted, the Model 1 stocks harely ever show up for sale, so establishing value is difficult. One could say that there are few for sale, so value should be high, but I have never ran across anyone asking for a set??

Since you can pick up a Model 1 revolver for under $200, I would say the stocks would be worth maybe half that, but if someone owns 16258, the sky's the limit!!:D

At recent S&WCA Symposiums, $100 would have easily bought you minty examples of Model 1, 2nd issue, stocks. Since the poster's pair show numerous dings & scratches, I would put them at $50 maximum, if that. Also, be aware the several maker's of S&W copies, circa 1860s era, like the Manhattans, etc., used the same size stocks and they will interchange with S&Ws, only difference being the screw thread pitch. Initially I thought that the serial number imprint font and/or size might be wrong however, I compared then to the stocks on my model 2 army and they look very similar. Even the location of the imprint is just like my model 2. ;)
