I'm pretty sure I'll get some of the facts wrong, but I'll take a stab at it. Brazilian isn't a style. In the early 1900s Brazil contracted with S&W to make revolvers for Brazil. I rekon S&W sold US produced revolvers to Brazil while S&W setup a revolver factory in Brazil. Much like the USA had done to Beretta for the M9. S&W then began producing revolvers in Brazil. At the end of the contract, S&W left Brazil leaving factory & tooling behind. I don't know the certain facts of the exit of S&W, but I've heard it wasn't friendly. I don't know the facts about how Taurus came to operate the factory, but operate the factory they did. There were some patent issues with S&W lockwork so Taurus had to change the lockwork. So, it's no accident that Taurus revolvers look so much like S&W revolvers. Although, through the passage of time the two companies designs have diverged. Later, Brazil pulled the same trick on Beretta. In Beretta's case, Taurus was able to reproduce an exact copy of the Beretta 92. At the time, Beretta was using a frame mounted safety. It wasn't until later that Beretta changed to a slide mounted safety. I think Taurus 92s make an easier transition for diehard 1911 fans to wonder 9s. They can be carried cocked and locked.
The question I have is whether these "Brazilian" revolvers for sale on GB are USA produced revolvers repatriated to the USA or whether they're S&W produced Brazilian revolvers. I don't know if I've ever seen a Brazilian made S&W or at least recognized it as such. Theoretically, they should be exact copies with only minor marking differences.
