Hello, trying to ID YOM of a friend's Model 10-10, 4" heavy bbl, 38 Special, bright bluing, CC hammer and trigger, S&W Black knobby synthetic round butt grip. SN: BPY26xx. From reading info available in my references, it appears the Model 10-10 was made between 1988 and 1998.
Also interested in approx value. I know photos would or in-hand inspection would be near mandatory for accurate appraisal but no photos avail by friend and proximity for me to photo is not practicable. I saw this revolver more than a year ago and it's been a safe queen since. Friend is good with proper maintenance of firearm surfaces and keeps a golden rod or similar on in safe pretty much year-round so I doubt it has degraded. When I saw it last is was near NIB but no box or papers. It was formerly owned by an elder friend, whose wife passed it on to my friend upon her husband's departure. Appeared unfired and with no handling marks nor holster marks. As I said, near NIB condition, without box.

Any info regarding YOM or approximate value that you could provide would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you!

SCSW4 shows BPY as 1993 mfg. As to value, others will tell you $400-500 for NIB/LNIB, with most quoting the higher end. The Model 10 is a wonderful, but plain vanilla, gun that every shooter should own. I'm sure millions have been made over the decades. That said, $350 max would be my limit for LNIB.
