I am trying to find out the age of a pistol. The numbers stamped on it is 10-7, so I am assuming it is a model 10. It has a 2" barrel, is nickel plated. It has the following numbers on it: f-22 05970 4do7653. I am trying to find out how old this pistol is. The gun is in mint shape! Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Merry Christmas MarauderDan

:) Welcome from Tn. Looks like your gun was made in 1979.
The M10 is built on the S&W K frame and are very nice guns.

Welcome from Texas MaraurderDan. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Correction- SN on the bottom of the handle is 9D80265. The number on the inside of the cylinder hinge is 94594. Above that number are 3 characters, the first isn't legible, the second and third are '26.'

Coincidence- I see you're from Chantilly. I lived there for 5 years. Moved away about a year and a half ago.

9D802XX = 1982...one year before I was born =)

Still in VA? I've been here for about 20 years (actually, much of it spent up the road with my parents in Herndon, and of course 36 cumulative months where I was down in Blacksburg for college). Since discovering firearms, I've come to appreciate being close to the NRA HQ Range in Fairfax (50yd indoor range) and Bull Run in Centreville (clay shotgun sports), but everything else (including where I work in Arlington) is an annoying, traffic-filled drive away...

Nope- moved to Kansas City a year and a half ago, nobody at this house misses the DC metro. I shot lots of skeet at the Arlington-Fairfax Isaac Walton in Centreville. Bull Run is too dangerous!
