I hardly need the 2" 1950 M&P I've got so I would not be a buyer for a new 2" Model 10 but my guess is S&W would sell quite a few of them.

Mine is a 10-7 two inch, a former service revolver, and the only weapon I ever shot a perfect during semi annual qualification. Still shoots great to this day.

Love the M10 2" Had a boatload of them before my 2018 fire and they all got water stained so I dumped them.

But I retained this one, my very first - almost 40 years old; I bought it new:

And I guess I created a Model 10 2" after this 4" M64 DAO got a new lease on life:

Not just restricted to the Model 10, any S&W with a Model number can have a “dash” number. Basically, The dash numbers indicate an engineering change such as heat treatment, wider front sights, etc.
