I have a model 10 no dash, blued snub nose, serial #c 4936xx.i was trying to find out year made, and was wondering if the model 10 no dash is rare to find.this is the first no dash I have actually owned or seen.i go to about all the local gun shows and have not ran across one.one last question, would the correct box be the gold box or the two piece solid border box?thanks for any info.

Model marked guns began in 1957. I believe the Model 10-1 appeared in 1959, so your gun would be somewhere in between. Model 10 no dash are not really rare, but definitely not as common as the later dash models. Most likely the two piece blue box with the two line company logo in the front would be the correct box. I think it's too late for the gold box.

So, having said that, when do we get to see the pics??

thanks ken,i was hoping the gold box wasn't the one I need, they are hard to find and a lot more money.i am unable to post pictures at this time but I will when able, thanks again.

Definitely the blue box and without the Bangor Punta line.
Nice pickup! I don't see very many Model 10 revolvers, either. Dash 5 and 6 are all over the place, but not so many no-dash or dash 1-4s that I see.

I can tell you that s/n C 45939X (a 4 screw) is a Mod 10 no dash and shipped Oct. 1959. That's 34,200 higher than yours, so no, they aren't what you would consider rare or even scarce.
