Model 29 no dash nickel 6.5” good deal? More pics added

Would it be under the grip?
My 7 day waiting period is up tomorrow so I can finally pick it up and bring it home.

A circa 1960-'61 model 29 will have a three-screw sideplate, and the fourth at the front base of the trigger guard for the cylinder stop.

The Special Oversize Target stocks on model 29s were phased out in about 1968, so a circa 1960-'61...you get the point. :)

I totally get it Allen thanks. I was more wondering which screw Mike,SC Hunter wasn’t seeing

Special oversize stocks made of Goncalo alves (S&W's description of stocks on 44 Magnums; coke bottle stocks is a collector's term) were used until being phased out in favor of diamond target stocks made of Goncalo alves beginning in early 1966. The only other model that was standard with these stocks was the Model 57 which was introduced in early 1964. The photo is of a Model 57 shipped in December 1964 with special oversize stocks. Click on the photo for a closer look.

Let's see....original condition Special Target grips, conservatively 6 bills. Original wood box, maybe 250 conservatively. Original SAT, what 100 or more? So you essentially got an extremely nice 29 no dash for 300 dollars.

I'd say that's a pretty good deal.
