I have a "later" Model 1000 that I bought way back when. The magazine follower failed, but I can't find a new one. I even contacted Howa, but they don't make them any more. I asked if drawings were available (I have a lathe), but was told that drawings were "intellectual property." Real nice.
Has anybody come up with an alternative? I wonder if the magazine follower from a 1000 (pump) could be used if I could groove it to pass down the mag tube. Maybe replace the spring, as well, since the original spring diameter is reduced at the end to about 3/8" to insert into the back of the original follower.
