The basic elements of life. Most everything else doesn't matter or help.

MacGuffin,

There are actually not that pristine. The pictures were taken in the shade of my "Doghouse" and just turned out nice.

The top, a M&P from about 1952, has a bit of blue wear on the high spots and some small pits to the right side of the barrel. But nothing that effects its shooting. I am contemplating getting rid of the faux stags, they are a bit cheesy.

The second from top is a M&P made in 1919. It also has blue wear on ths high points, someone carried it in a holster a lot. But other wise it is in excellent mechanical condition and shoots well also.

I bought them at the Albuquerque gun show two years ago.

Wow, what a great response!
Thanks to all for showing off these great old guns. Glad to see the Model 10 is still alive and well.
Happy New Year to everyone in our "forum family"
Keep 'em coming!

I have never owned a Mod.10, but my first issued service pistol was a Mod.64-3 SB 4"HB, SN# 30D1224. When we transitioned to the GLOCK, I lost that pistol

Fast forward to about two years ago, Mike aka ladder13 got me a "new" Mod.64-3 SB 4"HB, SN# 30D1172! I couldn't be prouder. I later augmented the 4" with an NY-1 2". Smith really got it RIGHT with the M&Ps!!!

Model 10s rock! I am now carrying a 10-5 every day. It's every thing you need in a sidearm and nothing you don't I recently put a set of Ahrends grips on mine. They make this fine gun even better. The one thing I like about the model 10 is that when you shoot it it just hangs there with almost no recoil. This makes for very fast follow up shots. Smith & Wesson got it right when they designed the K frame

OK-here's some more! Top, transition 6", easily 99%. Bottom, 4" postwar M&P, also mint.

Next up, everyone's favorite, a 3" 10-8, modified to DAO for LAPD carry.

My Model 10's sweet guns.

My Dad had these, and passed them on to me.
The 4 and 5 incher's have been refinished.

Nice! Never seen a 2 1/2in model 10. I have 5 pre model 10's (2,4,5in. bbl. lengths). Great guns! I'm always looking for more.

Great Model 10s! Mine is nothing special, a Hong Kong C&E gun. One of my favorite shooters.

You might say I'm fond of M&P revolvers, here's 15 of them, all police or military marked or attributed, from a 1930's vintage M&P, seven Victory Models, the rest post war M&P's and Model 10's:

Five years ago, if someone told me I would be collecting fixed sight, .38 caliber M&P revolvers, I would have told them they were crazy! Now, I can't get enough of them.

Here's a pic of my favorite, a Royal Hong Kong Police marked Model 10-7, with issue holster, lanyard, RHKP patch and police whistle:

It is extremely accurate, I have probably put 3000 rounds through it in the last 4 years, shooting IPSC, IDPA, PPC and Bianchi Cup matches. It looks rough, but shoots like you read about...
