Model 12-2 airweight question

Hello,
This is my first real post aside from my intro.
Hope I'm in the right area.
I have a 12-2 with a 4"barrel, round but that I bought about 22 years ago as a police trade in hear in sw ohio from a local police department.
Ok, on the bottom of the barrel just in front of the ejector is stamped in very small letters VALLEY GUN LA CA
Does anyone know what this means? Did this revolver come from CA or maybe it had some work done there?

Hey! Bubba Welcome to the forum. I don't know the
answer to your question, But I want to caution you about
your grips. They different than a regular K frame grip.
The frame on your gun is thinner than normal K frames.
So take care of the grips you have. Don

Still has the original grips that are in near perfect shape.
