This S&W has the 3inch barrel and is probably 95% with no box or papers. What would be reasonable offer to make?

Local gun shop, individual or friend selling?
But to answer your question, I'd say $375 to $400.
3" guns are hot and they may want a little more.

In the Piedmont Triad area of NC any 3" 13 will bring $500 +. Anything under $500 is a steal IMO.

I paid $550 for a nickel 3" 13-3 earlier this year. No box or docs and in excellent condition. The only other 3" 13 I've seen this year was priced at $600, with no box or docs and NO negotiations on price.

Good luck! Regards 18DAI

Remember when these were $325? I am actually bruised from the spot where I kick myself for not buying all of them.

I would think $750-$800 would be too high but I have seen them at that asking price. A lot depends on condition but in good shape it will sell quickly @ $575-$600.

Remenber When?

I remember when: a New M-19 was $125.00, a new M-39 was $118.00, a new M-28 was $115.00, and a new M-27 was $135.00.

I also remember at the same time $3.00 was a decent wage for a working guy/gal.

No? Me neither!

Hope to provide details and pic's Friday. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm looking right now at the original receipt from when I bought my 13-3 3in nickel It's dated 1/25/85 and I paid the princely sum of $228.
It was brand new, so it has the original box, all papers etc.
Fired it once (1 box) and it's been resting ever since.

Nice.......when you took it out of the safe, did it say....it's about time!! :)
Hmmmmmmmm, it would make a nice mate for the blued 13 I'm picking up.

I paid $500 a year ago for my three-inch blued 13-3 in nice condition (no box or papers). But I bought it from a friend, who then asked for it back! So I sold it back to him for what I paid him. And now he's thinking he wants to sell it again. Guess who has first dibs?

That's what I get from buying guns from friends!

It get's a gentle wipedown every few months so it dosen't feel neglected. Bet you can't wait to pick up yours...

I do. If I remember correctly, I paid about $275..mint condition heavy barrel blue...now at 14 years as my bedside gun.

$500 is the floor on a nice 3" model 13 these days.
Looking forward to pictures!

Pictures Added

Just picked it up this afternoon. Obvious holster wear and locks up tight. Thinking I might add some Ahrends grips.

Hmmmmmmmm...that's not good. I did find this while researching ...This is a double action revolver with a capacity of six rounds. Barrel lengths are 3\" and 4\" with fixed sights. Both round-butt and square-butt versions were produced. The Model 19 is essentially the same gun with adjustable sights.did find this..

Short notice pic

I just shot this on the computer table, so dont make fun or the pic.
But this is one that may interest some of you three inch collectors,
It is not quite as purty as the shinny one that i posted earlier. It is a 13-2 Pinned and counterbored.
I looked a long time for this one, and one day it just appeared I,ll try to get better pics later

Now Terry, why did you have to go and do that?
Seriously, just when I was all satisfied with my 13-3 and felt no need for a P&R model, had almost forgotten that they even existed, knew I'd probable never see one and now you've stirred that pot again! :)
There are very few guns that are on my short list and that is one of them.
Super nice revolver!
Do post some additional pictures but don't ruin my Christmas by telling me it just "appeared" and was only $250 or something like that!
:)

Neat

Opaul
I think that is one Very neat M13- I like the idea of a Sq. butt 3 in.
and I really dont care what the catalog says. S&W has done some different things with their revolvers- It may very well have come from
Springfield just the way that you received it, and even if it didnt, you have bragging rights to a very unusual piece
Merry Christmas
