Model 14-3 Acquisition

I just bought a beautiful 14-3 pistol. It is my first really nice revolver I have ever owned and I just love it. I plan on shooting it in distinguished revolver matches and so I need some target grips for it. I just bought a set of Houge grips on Midway USA and they will work just fine for target use but I would love to get a set of really nice LARGE target grips out of an exotic wood and also in a finger groove configuration. Does anyone know who makes these???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on the purchase as they are great revolvers and I picked up a 14-3 eariler this year that is a 98% revolver and I really like mine.

Ahrends makes wood grips with finger grooves that come in a varitity of nice woods. Do a google search on Ahrends and go to their website. The grips run about $60 and you will need them for a K frame square butt.

Congrats on your aquisition. There are a couple of folk on the website that actually can make grips of exotic wood, and maybe you could talk them into whatever you want to fit you properly. They may even be able to fingergroove them for you....

Welcome to the forum. The 14-3 is one of my favorite pistols ever made for punching holes in paper.

I'm assuming you're talking about Bullseye matches? If so, you have to make sure the grips are symmetrical from one side to the other, but the left side can have a relief for loaders and/or case ejection.
I just started shooting DR with my 14-4 this year and got 6 points in a regional match. Went to Perry and should have got 10 more points but crossfired on my neighbor's target. Revolvers are a hoot to shoot in bullseye matches. Enjoy.
