I apologize if this has been covered a million times:

I recently bought a model 15-3. It works fine in double action. In single action the trigger is way too light and will push off. Also, in single action, unless the trigger is pulled very quickly it springs back at the same time the hammer drops.
I'm guessing that some previous owner attempted an "action job". Is this a case of the sear face angle being wrong or maybe riding on a burr?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

That was amazing!!!. 30 sec. worth of stoning and polishing and it is like brand new - maybe better. Crisp break and no push off.

Many thanks,

Jeff

The push off is fixable with a stone, the light SA trigger is also a stone repair. The sear won't affect the final bit of motion. The quick trigger return might be with the rebound block or springs. I'd try original springs (17 coils) and see if the trigger is improved. It could also be manually induced. Try dry fire at normal speed, in other words, don't try to create a problem that with normal shooting would never happen. Good luck

Iwould send it to smith to have your push-off repair. If you do send it back ask customer service to give it to GENE in repaires he is the best.
