I am not a revolver guy but the LGS has a really nice Model 15-4 Snubby. There is only a faint drag line on the cylinder and a little polishing on the end of the barrel - like holster wear but not even worn through the bluing. The barrel is excellent and the timing seems fine. Locks up tight. They are asking $350 and seem pretty firm. I was looking at an M&P Shield - which I really like when I saw this. I figure the M&P Shield will be around for a while but these older revolvers in good condition are harder to find. I was thinking it might make a nice CCW. Any opinions on the Model 15-4, any thing I should be aware of, is $350 a fair price at say 90-95%? Thanks

I'd rip my pants pocket getting my wallet out for that one. In the condition you describe I've seen them going for high 4's. One of the best shooting K frames around.

+1 on what he just said.

2" Model 15

That is a good price for an excellent revolver. Good enough not to pass up. And you are correct, the Shield will be around for another few months, another few years… but you are not likely to see another Model 15 2” for years to come, and even then they will probably not be anywhere near as nice as you describe this one.

A few wear marks from carry only means that someone else has helped you to break it in.

15-4

I wouldn't take less than $450 for my 2" 15. The middle gun in the photo. Not that I want to sell it.

Tight, almost as accurate as my 4" 15. A joy to shoot. They're not making any more of 'em!
