I've loved Model 15s since Uncle Sugar issued me one in the USAF. My only one right now is this former BIA gun from the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana:

Beat you to it by one post. My blued gun is a round butt.

Yes, but mine is factory original....

I've personally never seen an earlier M15 with RB gripframe, have you lettered yours?
Let's see some pics without the grips, is the backstrap serrated?

Neat configurations keep showing up all the time, and we've learned to never say never, but........

Mine was the 1st round butt Model 15 I've seen. It was made in 1971. It's a 15-3 and serial number is 1K82XXX. When I got it I took the grips off to clean it and was surprised to find it was a round butt. I posted on a thread on round butt vs. square butt Model 15's and was surprised that several guys had round butt Model 15's.

I never took a photo of it with the grips off. I would like to find some Gongalive (sp) grips for it but can't find any for a round butt K-frame.

texagun,
Neat gun for sure. Is the backstrap serrated?
I've had several over the years, with a neat little 2" M15 that I had RB'd (my bad), but have not run into an original factory RB gun prior to the mid-90's conversion. The gun above is a M15-7, which is into the RB timeframe as well as the non-tapered barrel.

It's a complete mystery to me that they never did any 2" M15's with RB gripframe (to my knowledge), that would be a very cool carry gun.

I'm not sure. I don't recall. It's in my safe...next time I take it out I'll take the grips off and shoot a photo of it. I do know it is factory stock original. No work has been done on it.
