Model 16-2 condition question.

When You are looking at a 50+ year old gun and original owner is not in the room , How would You accurately describe condition of the revolver that does not appear to have any use , all original etc? If it was fired or not ? Etc To me its still 98 or 99%. I always here people argue about the % when it comes to condition.

Need sharper and better pictures or to hold it to know for sure. If those lighter points on the sharper edges are blue loss, then something less than 99% in my estimation. Pretty darn nice though whatever percentage one assigns to it!

It depends on whether this is a grading or buying exercise. If buying and the owner is advertising it as "new/unfired" or "NIB" with a corresponding price I would be really nit-picky.

Even if unfired but with a turn line (as I think I see in the photos), that makes it 98% in my mind, not that this is a bad thing .

Of what I see in these pics, I'd call it 99% at least... If it's for sale ya better get it while you can, ain't too many 16-2's around!!!!

I think 98-99% is as high as it can go on a pistol that is not factory new.

With all the 98% or 99% thats just a real guess, here's what is true looking at photo's: If your grips number to the revolver, no refinish, original box and tools, you are guaranteed $3,200. So if it is less then that go for it.

Its a long story. Lol. Someone tried to talk me out of it. But when the time came , they begun to criticize it and ask questions I had no
answers for. Lol. Back in the safe where it belongs. I guess it is 98% after all. Lol

Good for you, now you should start your quest for a 14-2 & 17-2. Thats what I did; my first Masterpiece was the 16-2 (no box though). I have 14-2, 15-2, and 17-2. The hunt is on for 18-2.

Thank You . Yes, I would be even more interested in keeping it if I could find a 1963 17 (k-22) and 14 (K-38). I would want them both in 98% .
