Anyone have one of these varmints? Always wanted one, because I love the 14. and just bought one overseas. The owner put a wide sight blade on it. Where's a good place to get a replacement?
Any experience with it? I love the 32 long caliber and load it for my Walther GSP bullseye gun.
Looking forward to shooting this old girl!

What do you mean by "Wide sight blade"? The front sight or the rear sight "slide"? So far as I know at least all model numbered Model 16s, no dash on up, have 1/8" front sights. At least my 16 no-dash does.

If you mean the rear sight slide then these are available from S&W in the form of a kit. All S&W K, L, N Frame micrometer sights are identical from 1946 to current date. The sight leaf itself was changed from square front to a rounded front. They are not interchangeable but all of the small parts are.

For some reason, it seems that the -2 variant is the rarest of a rare breed... at least it's the one I encounter least often. Any of the K-32 family seems to be very desirable... trying to buy one will quickly expose the high demand and low supply level. Congratulations on a great find.

I had a 6" Model 16-4 briefly when they first came out, but for reasons too embarrassing to go into here let it go all too soon. Since then, seeing the error of my ways, I've had a stainless 4" K-327 Fed Mag built (Project 616) and currently have an homage to a Model 16-3 being (re-)produced at the shop of a nearby gunsmith. You might say I find them worth pursuing.

Darn, nary a picture?
Steve

OK, OK I got the hint. Though I don't have the gun, and will be some time getting through the bureaucracy(s), I do have some pics of it. If I can figure out how to get them in here...

Guess I need to send it through a photo site...

As to the front sight, the former owner had a wider blade (aftermkt) put in, also widened the rear blade, which I will restore to original.

Got a good deal on it though... in spite of the "warts"..

I would think any K-22, K-38 patridge front blade could be used for the front sight. You will probably find the gun to be a tack driver. My 16-3 is.

Please, let's see some pics of yours? Different styles of sights(older or newer) ?
