Model 16 Correct Box?

Please see attached pic. Excuse the glare. No dash. 10 grooves on blackstrap. Marked Mod 16. Would the gold box be correct? Thanks!

In short, yes. Gold boxes hung around for quite a while after the blue boxes showed up. This was especially true for the Model 16. I've seen them as late as the early 1960s on that model.

Not sure when your Model 16 was shipped, but the serial number of the revolver was usually written on the bottom of the box in black grease pencil.

Interesting, but nope, just double-checked. No grease pencil SN. FYI SN K4328XX.
