Hi everybody,
it's some time ago that I could report about a new found here in Germany. But now I detected a very rare gun, especially for our country. It is a model 16 / .32S&W long. The gun came with "modern" target grips with speed loader cut out. Unfortunately I do not have a pair of matching K-frame Diamond Magnas and replaced the ugly target grips with a pair of non-Diamond Magnas. So if anybody has a pair of K-frame Diamond Magnas in nice condtion for sale, pls. let me have a note. The gun has seen a lot of use and has a scratch on the sideplate. I guess the previous owner tried to remove the flat screw under the grips and had the wrong tool. Nevertheless, the gun is from 1962 and the SN is K 486 205. So it may have some signs of use. The model 16 is not often seen in Germany, because the rules of our shooting organisation requires the .32S&W WC which saw a lot of use in the famous Walther GSP pistol. Toaday the .32S&W WC is not so popular anymore because many shooters prefer the .38 Special or the .357 Magnum. The DSB (Deutscher Schützenbund), our biggest shooting organisation, offers matches in Revolver group 1 (.357 Magnum), Revolver Group 2 (.44 Magnum), Pistol group 1 (9mm Para) and Pistol group 2 (.45 ACP). All disciplines require a minimum power which is speed in m/sec x bullet weight in gramms x 0,1. This factor is different for every caliber. Everything is easy to handle - only the .357 which requires a factor or monumentum of 350 is a little hard. Nobody really wants 45 shots full house loaded Magnums. The only way is to use a heavier than standard bullet weight (180 Grains or 200 Grains. I add some pictures of the S&W model 16 and hope you like it.
