I got a couple questions for y'all, hopefully someone could give me some advice. My local gun shop has had a blued Model 17 no dash with around a 4-5 inch barrel. It's in really nice shape and I BELIEVE it has its original target grips. They have a diamond on them. They look lightly worn, but the gun doesn't have any finish missing and is a nice tight gun.
Now I'm not a fan of .22's, especially large .22's but I want to buy a couple old Smiths that I could possibly use for a trade in the future at a gun show.
My question is, is that model with no dash something that a decent amount of people like or look for? I know it's hard to answer this because it just depends on the person I'm trying to make a trade with and what they like or think they can get for what I'm trading them.
Just want to know if this is a gun I would have a decent chance of making a trade with or add to a trade or is this a model that would most likely be useless? Again, I know this isn't a cut and dry answer and as long as I find someone that wants that model then I'm in business, but I just want to know, would this be a sound investment or should I not waste my time.
It's also pretty expensive. I think they have it at 830 bucks or something. I can talk them down some. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
