Model 17

I found a model 17 at a gun show. I hate to put a condition on a gun because I am not good at it. But I would say it is in about 95% condition. According to the Standard Catalog it was made in 1968. It has a late 1968 serial number. It is in the original box with one little booklet but no wax paper and no tools. The guy is asking $650. Their will be about $30.00 tax added to this price.
Is this a good price? Or should I pass on it?

It's hard to judge value without seeing the gun or good photos of the gun. K-22's have really been bringing high prices lately. That price is not out of line for what you describe, if it has the original grips, but not a real bargain, either.

I may be stuck in the past, though!

Even in the current K-22 price run-up, I think $650 sounds about $100-150 high for this one.

I agree with the above responses.Maybe I'm living in the past too, but I think 650 should get one in 99% condition.
My local dealer has one that sounds better,no box, for 575.

Last night I sold a 1970 M17-3 on GunBroker in 95% condition for $525.
