I've been on the hunt for a K-22 with 6" barrel to replace one I regretfully sold a few years ago. I am very happy to be the new caretaker of this one I received today with a S&W factory letter and stocks that are number matched to the frame. Serial number dates to late 1958, ship date was March 1959.

Very nice 17. Congratulations. I've said many times that the S&W 22's are the most fun guns to have. I have a mid-70's Model 17 that I bought new. Recently acquired a Model 18 of 1958 vintage. Enjoy your 17!

Very nice! I love shooting mine and I am sure that you will like that one. They are tack drivers.

I would love to have that vintage of 17...mine are a bit newer. I have a 4" and an 8 3/8" and a 4" model 18-3. Great rimfires and superbly accurate.

That must have cost a pretty penny in this climate.

I just picked up an Model 17-3, that I believe was made in 1971, looks just like the day it left the factory! Been shot very little, and has no blue wear. Congrats on your find! M17 are great, just read Skeeter Skelton's opinion of them.

K-22

Congrats! I just posted mine that is very similar. Can you please share what you paid for yours? Thanks.
