Model 19 2.5” barrel - blue or nickel?

"Both" is the best answer, but if you can only afford one, then if it is a factory nickel finish, that is the one that is more collectible. For durability, the nickel finish is more corrosion resistant than a blued finish. Firearms manufacturers did not adopt nickel as an optional finish simply because it looked flashy, it was the most corrosion resistant finish until the advent of hard chrome.

And the winner is………

You say right now that the blued Model 19-3 won out, and it's a nice one...but hold your horses, pardner. I was always a blued steel and wood guy, but one day some nickel revolvers started to catch my eye. Now I have a few, including this minty nickel 19-4. This might get you to thinking about adding to the herd. Good hunting. Enjoy1

As others mentioned, really couldn't go wrong with either, but that blued model looks fantastic! Nice pickup! The bluing looks like its dripping wet. Darn it now I'm gonna go shopping lol...

I have my sights on a couple of 19-3s with the 2.5" barrel. One blue one nickel. I want one for my snubby collection. What's the overall opinion on which is more collectible? If you could only have one which one would you guys get? The condition of each is very similar. Thanks.

Sir, I've got two (2) of each. Never had second thoughts about buying either one. Get the one in front of you now, then go for the hunt of the other.
Remember the Model 19 series is one of the best all around revolvers ever produced. It's everything one needs in a handgun and nothing you don't need

I have both, the nickeled I bought from a friend at his shop. Not long after my friend came down with cancer and passed. I am thankful to have both, but the nickeled 19-5 means more to me.
