If this is not appropriate, someone please let me know and I will withdrawal the question.

I have a friend that has offered me a 19-3 with a 2.5" barrel that is nickel plated. It is the gun only; there is no box or paperwork. He wants $400.

I already own one, with its box and papers. I would most likely be buying this to resell it and try to make some $.

What is the street value of a gun like this? I'm thinking $425-$500. Am I off base?

nickle 19 snubs bring a bit of a premium, I'd be allover it for $400(which happens to be what I paid for mine)

Thank you for your replies. I plan to goto a local gun show this weekend and want to be sure I can get all my cash out of it.

I know its not a snub. You guys have deeper pockets than I do. I asked looked and asked around before I picked up this one owner model 19-2 from a friend I've know for years. Another club member set the priceat $325 - box, papers and a couple of boxes of shells included.

The price list is a little out of date the listed price for factory reblueing is $18!

I think a model 57 is next on the list.

I haven't gotten back to this thread since yesterday and I see a few have felt that I was maybe going to take advantage of a friend. Just so you know I though about it and felt the same way. I told him to bring it to the gun show with me and sell it himself and that he would get more money out of it.

I'm going to take some other Smiths for trading fodder and I'm sure we'll have a grand old time.
