Model 19-3 Birthday Question

Got this relatively recently at an LGS for $600; I don't know much about it other than it's in really good condition, shoots very well to POA and has nifty custom wood grips that fit me like a glove. Serial # is 2K2816. When is this from, and what are these awesome grips?

Almost certainly 1971.

2K1-2K22037 = 1970
2K22038-2K55996 = 1971
2K55997-2K99999 = 1972
