Model 19-3 DOB

Just picked up a mint 19-3 4" TT,Th,perfect Target grips. Really beautiful dark, high polish blue. Much better than many I've seen. Has been fired but perhaps only a few rounds by the look of it. Were these earlier ones given more care in the finish than current models? #7K6035 Any Idea as to DOB? Is $465 OTD a good price. Just the gun,no box or other goodies.

With only four digits after the "K", most likely 1974, maybe 1975.

More care than now? Yes and no. Different process, different time but I have seen some really nice refinishes come out of S&W recently so maybe they care more now than they did even five years ago.
