Model 19-3, One Number Off

I was able to pick up a very nice 2 1/2" 19-3. Dirty bore and old oil but shot very little. One odd thing about it is the grip serial number is off by 1. I had to get out the loop to take a closer look but that's what was there. I've heard of this happening before but this is the first time I have owned one with that anomaly. I'm pretty sure it was a factory mistake. I have to get out my old Bianchi #9 upside down cause this one is begging to be carried. Pictures to follow Sunday evening.

Somewhere there is another one with a set of grips, one number off the other way.

I had a "pre" Model 27 like that at one time. Probably someone picked up the wrong punch when they stamped the number, or just picked up the wrong set of grips.
