Model 19-3 Stocks

Hello fellow voters. I have this great shooter 19-3. Recently the right stock is moving just a little bit. Its so slight that you can't see it but you feel it. Any thoughts?

I once cut a piece of business card to shim grips on a Colt Python that were loose. I suspect they get loose with age due to drying out!

Sorry if this comment seems sarcastic, but can you tighten the screw?...or is it already maxed?

A grip can shift because the orientation pin hole has gotten enlarged. This can be fixed by using a small amount of bedding compound, (and release agent or good wax on the pin). let get half way dry and place the grip panel on straight down and screw in place. Wait overnight and remove the grip panel and clean up any on the frame and sand the grip panel flush around the hole, should need much.

Bedding compound or any epoxy resin in the stocks to tighten the fit to the pin is a good way to keep the stocks tight for a long time. Just remember to coat the pin and grip frame with a release agent, otherwise the stocks will be a permanent part of the revolver.

As many shooters do is to replace the grips usually with rubber. It might remedy the problem but do not lose the original grips. Having the originals greatly enhances your revolver's value. Most likely you've already made up your mind to keep it but one never knows about possible trade offers for it 20 years from now.
