A friend of mine from work has a model 19-5 and I was hoping someone here could tell me the manufacture year on it the serial # is AYZXXXX.Thank in advance for your help.It looks to be an older gun but he has no idea of when it was made.

As I read the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, it is 1988.

Thanks P35Fan I`ll let him know he just picked it up this last summer I`m not sure what he paid for it I think he said 250.00.
