Always wanted one, this is a 2.5 bbl. Purchased privately over the net on a different forum. Cleaned and lubed, action felt OK, no end shake, no looser than my 686 I bought new last summer. Was finally able to get to the range and…

Lots of light strikes, say 2-3 out of 6. Ran three cylinders of ammo through it. Ammo was WWB and my 686 ran it with no issues. I will say that the hammer mounted firing pin is loose but have heard that’s no big deal. Emailed Smith to see if they’ll take a look at it.

Anybody seen this before?

That should take care of it.

I've owned a bunch of Model 19's over the years, but my current 19-5, 4" barrel, might well be the best of them all. Sure, it's not P&R, but it shoots like a champ. Great trigger.

Probably tightening up the strain screw will do the job. It is also possible it has a light main spring in it. That is also both easy and cheap to replace. I have had that issue with used guns I have bought from time to time.
