New to this forum, was told on to post this here. My Wife bought me a S&W model 19-5 357 mag for my birthday, it is the first S&W I own, but I'm sure there will be more. Anyway, she paid $400 for it, I think she did good but she thinks she paid to much. From the serial # I figured it is a 1982.
So what do you think, good deal? also any info and advice is appreiciated. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. I won't say that's the deal of the century but I would say she did just fine. Most M19s I see are at least $50 more if in the same shape. Nice gun. Give her a hug.

Happy Birthday Richard ,

You and the Misses have found an excellent weapon at a fine price IMHO.
I envy you in the choice of your spouse , she merits high marks for such a fine gift.

Patrick.

I think she did just fine on the price and great on her choice of presents! I have a blued six inch 19-5 that thinks its a target pistol. Enjoy!

You couldn't touch that gun around here for $400.00
You've got two winners there. Take care of both of them.

Good enough price on a great gun. I never get stuff like that for my birthday unless I get it myself. Tell your wife she's awesome.

Hey, That baby is a twin of the one I just put up on this forum! As for price, your wife did you proud brother. Enjoy shooting the gift and hugging the giver. Waistgunner

Couldn't get that low a price out here.
She did well.
Keep 'er shiny with some Johnson's Paste Wax. (the gun, not your lady)

She did BADLY. Let me give her $425 for it and then she can feel better.

I couldn't find a gun like that around here for $550. She did just fine! And you are a lucky guy.

Thanks for the comments and tips, just got done polishing it. It really shines now! Almost to pretty to shoot (almost). She has bought me several guns as presents but this one is my new favorite.
