Model 19-5

I've been wanting a shorter barreled revolver chambered for .357. I have a Security Six and a Trooper III both with 6" barrels, great guns, but sometimes a bit too long. I helped a friend find a M15 2" last week, enjoyed shooting it, figured .357 capable would be nice.

Drove 45 miles in the snow this morning to check out a gun show up north, hoping to find a short barreled Model 66.

Found this 19-5 in not too bad a shape, till I got it home. Stocks aren't number, was dry and had some surface rust inside. Paid too much, but I haven't seen one around here in a while, so I jumped on it. Sn ACC01xx, 1983 ?

It cleaned up nicely and I can't wait to try it out.

You can't pay too much for a K frame snub! I've got it's twin, a 19-3, and you won't regret five years down the road buying this one. Love ALL snubby S&W's!

Take some simichrome or flitz polish to that and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what that'll do to bring some shine back to the finish.

Man, it looks as though a previous owner had no gun care skills at all!

I fall firmly into the "You don't pay too much, just too soon" group. I also frequently practice what I preach...

Assuming that the bore and chambers are OK, a bit of cleaning and lube will bring your new gun back up to speed in no time. It make for a solid revolver that you can carry and shoot without fear of wear and tear.

Gotta love 19 snubs. Nice catch!!!..and it cleaned up good. Great carry piece.
This is deja vu...i recently went through the very same thing with a 19 snub that needed TLC.
